Narration
The Cestius Bridge leads you to an island that looks like a ship. But this boat sails through time, not water.
Here, temples were built for the sick and dying. It is said that in the underground, you can still hear prayers whispered by the spirits of pilgrims.
Puzzle
What was the name of the god of healing worshiped on the island?
(You'll find the correct answer at the bottom of this page, but don't look there right away. Try to answer the riddle yourself first. That's the fun of it!)
Prize
The reward for solving the puzzle is the eighth seal: The Healer's Seal - a symbol of rebirth. Keep it as proof of solving the eighth task!

Curiosities and secrets of Tiber Island
Not every island is a paradise. Not every island is deserted. And certainly not many are shaped like boats. Tiber Island has been more than a place for centuries. It has been a refuge, a border, a refuge… and a shadow.
In ancient times, it was believed that the Tiber River absorbed what was sinful and sick. But it was on this island, wrapped in the current like a snake's coil, that healing from the divine hand was supposed to descend. Today, there is a hospital here, bridges connecting land with water, and in the middle of it a mysterious temple, which is said to have been built at the behest of a dream.
The boat that became an island?
According to legend, after the expulsion of the last king, Tarquinius the Proud, his body was thrown into the Tiber along with grain from the royal granaries. The grain settled in the mud and formed an island.
The dream that brought god
In the 4th century BC, a plague ravaged Rome. In desperation, an embassy was sent to the temple of Aesculapius in Epidaurus. There, according to the story, the sacred snake – a symbol of the god of medicine – crawled onto a Roman ship, which then stopped at this very island. The snake disappeared somewhere in the undergrowth. The plague ended. A temple was built there, and the island became a center of healing – physical and spiritual.
A place of quarantine and silence
For centuries, the island was used as a place of isolation for the sick and infected. Hospitals, shelters, monasteries – each had its own history and its own secrets. At night, the guards say, you can sometimes hear a quiet whisper in Latin… an echo of prayers, perhaps? Or something older?
Fabricius Bridge – the oldest active bridge in Rome
It has connected the island to the left bank of the Tiber since 62 BC. Its stone arches have survived floods, wars and earthquakes. The vaults bear the symbol of four heads – perhaps guardians, or perhaps… witnesses whose opinion was not consulted.
