No more boredom while sightseeing!
You have a plan, the children have a mission!
You know that feeling when, after a few minutes of admiring a beautiful monument, you hear a drawn-out, " Mom, Dad, I'm bored! When are we going for ice cream?" ? Traditional sightseeing rarely impresses young children. Children need action and purpose.
That's why I created this comic. Most importantly, it's based on my comprehensive guide to Malta and Gozo.
What does this mean in practice? The comic book route takes you through the exact same attractions I described on my blog for adults . This way, you can explore with my detailed, practical itinerary in hand, while your children have their own comic book adventure. You're in the same place, but everyone discovers it in their own way! The kids are busy searching for hidden symbols or counting colorful boats, and you have space to enjoy the views and sip a coffee in peace.
What is the comic book "Small Islands - Big Adventures"?
Instead of passively strolling, I suggest you follow in the footsteps of the mysterious Golden Knight. On nine fully illustrated pages, you'll find a tested plan for four days of intense adventure.
Inside you will find:
– Ready-made route (4 days, over 20 places): From the historic walls of Birgu and Valletta, through the oldest temples in the world, the blue waters of Comino, to the wild cliffs and secrets of the island of Gozo.
– 36 missions to complete: Tasks for observation, counting objects, searching for hidden symbols and interacting with the environment (e.g. checking the color of water).
– Historical and natural curiosities: Presented in a light, child-friendly form (in comic bubbles).
– Practical tips: What to pack in your explorer's backpack and how to navigate cleverly between islands.
This comic book is best suited for children aged 7–12 . Younger explorers can also participate in the missions, completing them with their parents , while older children can treat the whole thing as a standalone field game.

How to use comics?
It's so easy! You can upload the PDF file to your phone or tablet—kids love interacting with screens, and the interactive nature of the comic on a smartphone is great for traveling or while waiting at a restaurant. However, if you prefer a more traditional approach, I highly recommend printing it out before you go.
This way, regardless of the method chosen, children can follow the route, check off visited places, and complete missions. It's a great way for children to actively participate in the trip and forget about asking, "How much further?"

Ready for adventure?
Remember – as my comic book advice goes – you don't have to see everything. Choose your favorite spots, slow down, and enjoy the moment. The greatest adventures are the ones you experience together!
